Job Applicants’ Privacy Notice
This information is for applicants who apply to work at the SLCC.
The Scottish Legal Complaints Commission (“the SLCC”) is committed to ensuring that its data processing activities are fully compliant with the data protection laws and the changes introduced by the General Data Protection Regulation (“the GDPR”).
The SLCC is the ‘data controller’, which decides how your personal information is processed and for what reasons.
Our Privacy Notice lets you know what we will do with your personal information while we have it in our possession and how we will make sure that it is kept safe.

Applying for a job with us?
How long do we keep your personal information for?
If your application for employment is unsuccessful, we will hold your personal information on file for 6 months after the end of the relevant recruitment process. At the end of that period, or once you withdraw your consent, your information is deleted or destroyed.
If your application is successful, your personal information gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your personnel file and retained during your employment.
Your personal information will be retained by us in accordance with our Retention and Destruction Policy.
