The SLCC has reported its best ever year of performance in its latest annual report.
In July the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission (SLCC) worked with YouGov to poll the public on various issues around legal regulation. The results are being announced before a major conference tomorrow looking at the future of regulation in Scotland, and are based on a poll of the Scottish public (excluding those who worked in the legal industry).
The SLCC has said in response to the Scottish Solicitors Discipline Tribunal’s recent consultation on the standard of proof to be applied in misconduct proceedings, that it should lower the standard of proof to the civil standard.
The SLCC has reported on its latest audit of the Faculty of Advocates conduct complaints handling processes. The report made 6 recommendations and the audit team have thanked the Faculty’s Chief Executive and other staff for their time and co-operation.
