Consultation analysis on proposed changes to complaints process published
Today, the Scottish Government published its analysis of responses to the consultation on potential improvements to the legal complaints system. The proposals were drawn up by the Scottish Government, working with the SLCC and the Law Society of Scotland, and comprise changes that could be made to the existing legislation. Alongside further consideration of these proposals, the paper commits to bringing forward a consultation on wider reform later this year.
Neil Stevenson, Chief Executive, said, “It’s good to see engagement with the proposals in the consultation, and we’ll work with Scottish Government and the Law Society of Scotland to consider the findings and next steps. We continue to believe that full reform of the complaints and regulation system is needed, and this was echoed by many of the respondents to the consultation.”
