Handling complaints - for lawyers
A handling complaint is a complaint about the way a professional organisation, such as the Law Society of Scotland or the Faculty of Advocates, has dealt with a conduct or regulatory complaint.
If you are a legal practitioner who has been the subject of a conduct complaint, you can make a handling complaint about the way a professional organisation such as the Law Society of Scotland has dealt with the complaint.
Please be aware that we can only accept handling complaints from the practitioner complained about if the original conduct complaint was received after 1 January 2015.
