What action can we take?

We make our determination and recommendations on Approved Regulator complaints to Ministers, who take a decision on any sanctions to be applied. The measures open to Ministers are:

  • Setting performance targets
  • Directing that action be taken
  • Publishing a statement of censure
  • Imposing a financial penalty
  • Amending an authorisation to act
  • Rescinding an authorisation to act.
